This first attempt was set pretty normal. You see a bit of everything. You see the sun rays coming through the clouds. You can see the barn pretty clear - but none of it really stands out as the focus of the picture.
This photo shows more of the light through the dark clouds - do you notice how it's the main focal point now - you almost can't see the barn it's so dark. (Look it's still there - this photo was shot from the same spot as the prior picture.)
Now notice in this picture the clouds are gone. But they're not really, we just adjusted the light in the camera. This picture has the barn being pretty well lit, on a SUPER overcast day, without the use of a flash - but it also means our clouds and sky (and pretty rays of light) have disappeared out of our picture.
It's so cool the things you can do with a camera. My teacher said last night, "It's not about capturing what's in front of you. It's about capturing it in its best light." Which picture had the best light for you? I think I like number 2.
Thanks for looking!

#2 #2 #2! Very cool!
Sounds like you already learned a lot in your class. I think number 2 is the coolest pic but I think other occasions might call for #1 and #3. Neat that you can adjust the light. Did you sign up for the SLR class or the digital photo class? Hey- That is a beautiful washer and dryer. Nice!
Yep, number 2 had the best light, the other 2 were just kinda random. Good job:)
